RANCHI, India, June 16 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on May 14:

1. Heard learned counsels for petitioner and for State.

2. The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Complaint Case No.3831 of 2025, for offence registered under section 47(a), 55, 52(d) of Excise Act, pending in court of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jamshedpur.

3. Learned counsel for petitioner submits that false allegations are made against the petitioner of escaping on seeing the raiding party. He next submits that 2684.92 litres of liquor has been alleged to be recovered from the vacant house of TISCO Society, Chhota Gadra and the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent as disclosed in paragraph no.16 of the petition.

4. Learned State counsel opposes prayer and submits that the quantity of recovered liquor is huge and in view of that, anticipatory bail may kindly be rejected.

5. Considering that the said recovery of liquor is from the vacant house of TISCO Society and the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent as aforesaid, I am inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, the petitioner, above named, is hereby directed to surrender before learned court within two weeks from today, and in event of his surrender/arrest, the petitioner, above named, shall be released on bail, on furnishing bail bond of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand), with two sureties of like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jamshedpur, in connection with Complaint Case No.3831 of 2025, subject to the conditions as laid down under section 482(2) of Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
