RANCHI, India, June 23 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on May 27:

1. The petitioners apprehending their arrest in connection with Kuru P.S. Case No.99 of 2024 for the offences punishable under Sections 12(1)(2) of the Jharkhand Bovine Animal Prohibition of Slaughter Act, 2005 and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, pending in the Court of learned Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Lohardaga, have prayed for grant of anticipatory bail.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have been falsely implicated in the present case and have not committed any offence as alleged in the F.I.R. The petitioner no.1 is registered owner of Tata Yodha vehicle bearing registration No. JH-01FM-1890 from which there is alleged recovery of 3 cows, 1 Ox and 1 calf. So far as petitioner No.2 is concerned, he is the owner of Bajaj Platina motorcycle bearing registration No. JH-08J-2777 which was apprehended by the police near the place of occurrence being allegedly used by his brother Tafique Ansari. The petitioners have no criminal antecedent as has been stated in paragraph no.18 of the present anticipatory bail application. They, however, undertake to co-operate in the ongoing investigation. Hence, they may be given the privilege of anticipatory bail.

3. Learned A.P.P. opposes the petitioners' prayer for grant of anticipatory bail.

4. Having heard learned counsel for the parties and considering the materials available on record, I am inclined to enlarge the petitioners on anticipatory bail.

5. Accordingly, the petitioners, above named, in the event of their arrest or surrender before the court below within three weeks from today, shall be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) each with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Judicial Magistrate 1 st Class, Lohardaga in connection with Kuru P.S. Case No.99 of 2024, subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
