RANCHI, India, Aug. 8 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on July 9:

1. Heard counsel for the parties.

2. A reading of Annexure Nos.2 and 3 filed by the petitioner indicates that there was clearance for grant of mining lease by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India to the respondent no.12 on the ground that the land in question for which such lease is being proposed to be granted was non-forest land. Though counsel for the petitioner contends that the land includes area where Elephants move and NOC is not given by the State Forest Department, yet the said contention has no relevance in view of the clearance given by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India for grant of mining lease in question.

3. Therefore, we do not find any merit in this PIL and the same is, accordingly, dismissed.
