RANCHI, India, Nov. 2 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 6:

1. Heard the parties.

2. Petitioner has been made accused in connection with Godda (Muffasil) P.S. Case No. 237 of 2024 for the offences registered under Sections 137(2), 96 of the B.N.S., 2023 and Sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act, pending in the Court of learned Additional District & Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (POCSO), Godda.

3. The petitioner is alleged to have enticed away the minor daughter of the informant to leave her lawful guardianship with intention to marry her.

4. The statement of the victim has been recorded under Section 183 of the B.N.S.S., in which, she has stated that she has left her lawful guardianship according to her own wish and she has married with this petitioner. The age of the victim has been assessed to be about 15 years.

5. Considering the age of the victim, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail is rejected, at this stage.
