GUWAHATI, India, Dec. 8 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on Nov. 7:

1. Heard Mr H R Choudhury, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr A Bhattacharjee, learned counsel appearing for the respondent No. 1 and Mr H Sarma, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the other respondents.

2. Although the respondents are yet to file their affidavit-in-opposition in the matter, the learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that while the prayers in the writ petition were for directions to the respondents to consider and dispose of the application filed by the petitioner seeking NOC for sale of his land and/or other directions requiring the respondents to issue an NOC in favour of the petitioner, during the pendency of this writ petition, the application filed by the petitioner has come to be rejected. The said rejection has been brought on record by the petitioner by way of an additional affidavit filed on 24th of September, 2025.

3. On a pointed query by this Court, the learned counsel for the petitioner has sought for some time to seek instructions whether he would like to pray for an amendment of the writ petition in accordance with the procedure laid down or would like to withdraw this writ petition with liberty to assail the further developments, which took place after the writ petition.

4. List the matter after 6 (six) weeks, allowing the prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner.
