GAUHATI HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON RUHULUR RAHMAN AND 6 ORS. V/S THE STATE OF ASSAM AND 4 ORS.

GUWAHATI, India, July 2 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on June 2:

1. Heard Ms. K. Devi, learned counsel for the petitioners, who have approached this Court with a grievance that the concerned "DARPAN" portal has been closed so far as the School of the petitioner is concerned, namely, Lakhiganj Higher Secondary School in the district of Dhubri.

2. When this matter was listed on 16.05.2025, Shri TC Chutia, learned Standing Counsel, Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) was directed to obtain instructions. Shri Chutia, learned Standing Counsel has submitted that he has obtain written instructions on 22.05.2025, as per which the decision is of the Director of Secondary Education.

3. Let notice be issued, returnable on 11.06.2025.

4. Ms. NM Sarma, learned Standing Counsel, Secondary Education Department accepts notice on behalf of the respondent nos.1, 2 & 3 and Shri TC Chutia, learned Standing Counsel, ASSEB accepts notice on behalf of the respondent nos. 4 and 5. Extra copies of the writ petition be served upon the learned counsel for the respondents during the course of the day.

5. By the next date, Ms. Sarma, learned Standing Counsel would obtain instructions regarding decision taken in this issue.

6. List this case on 11.06.2025.
