GUWAHATI, India, Aug. 21 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on July 21:

Heard Ms. B. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. B. Sarma, learned CGC; Mr. G. Sarma, learned standing counsel for the FT matters and NRC; Mr. M. Islam, learned counsel on behalf of Mr. A.I. Ali, learned Standing Counsel for the ECI; and Mr. P. Sarmah, learned Additional Senior Govt. Advocate for the State respondent.

From the statements made in paragraph 3 of the writ petition, read with paragraph 3 of the common order dated 27.03.2019 passed by the learned Member, Foreigners' Tribunal, Jorhat in Case No. F.TG.205/2014, corresponding to S.P.'s Enquiry No. 178/2014, along with other cases, it prima facie appears that the petitioner had changed the address after the enquiry was made and did not inform the authorities about the change of the address. Thus, the notice was served in a manner which is permissible under Para 3(5)(f) of the Foreigners (Tribunals) Order, 1964.

Accordingly, on the question of maintainability, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks for some time to address the Court.
