GAUHATI HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON MRINAL DAS ALIAS MRINAL CH DAS V/S THE STATE OF ASSAM

GUWAHATI, India, April 7 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on March 5:

1. Heard Mr. A. Paramanik, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. P. Borthakur, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, for the State respondent.

2. This is an application under Section 482 BNSS, 2023 praying for grant of pre-arrest bail to the accused/petitioner, namely, Mrinal Das @ Mrinal Ch. das who is apprehending arrest in connection with Palashbari P.S. Case No. 01/2026 registered under Sections 61(2)/316(5)/318(4)/336(3)/340(2)/344 of BNS, 2023.

3. Considering the submissions of Mr. Paramanik and also considering the fact that one Field Officer has already been granted interim protection, the petitioner herein is also granted some interim protection till receipt of the case with a direction to appear before the I.O. on or before 10.03.2026 and to cooperate with the investigation of the case.

4. Let the matter be accordingly listed on 10.03.2023.

5. Till 10.03.2026 no coercive action shall be taken against the present petitioner.
