GUWAHATI, India, Sept. 18 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on Aug. 19:
Heard Dr. A Saraf, learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Shri B Chowdhury, learned Standing Counsel, Finance (Taxation) Department, Assam.
The learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner has submitted that though there is a decision of the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court which has been annexed to the writ petition, it appears that the law laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court was not placed before the Hon'ble Division Bench and therefore, there is a scope for reconsideration.
Shri Chowdhury, learned Standing prays for some time to examine the issue as well as to take instructions.
Considering the aforesaid situation, the matter is deferred and is directed to be listed for hearing on 28.08.2025.
