GAUHATI HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON HOREN BHUYAN V/S THE STATE OF ASSAM AND ANR REPRESENTED BY THE PP, ASSAM

GUWAHATI, India, May 11 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on April 11:

Case taken up before the Lawazima Court. None appears on behalf of the appellant. Perused the records

Perusal of the office note dated 11.04.2025 reveals that notice was issued to the respondent No. 2 through the office of the learned Public Prosecutor on 19.03.2025.

Now, in regard to the aforesaid notice issued to the respondent No. 2, it appears that the service report has been received from the office of the learned Officer in charge, Dergaon Police Station, wherein, it has been stated that notice has been duly served upon the said respondent (i.e., "Anju Ghatowar).

Further, it has been observed that the aforesaid respondent No. 2 also acknowledged the receipt of the notice by putting her thumb impression on the return copy of the notice.

In view of the observations made above, it may be said that service in respect of the respondent No. 2 has been completed.

Accordingly, the matter may be placed before the Hon'ble Court.
