GUWAHATI, India, Sept. 18 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on Aug. 19:

Heard Ms. P. Chutia, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard learned Standing Counsel, Soil Conservation Department.

The writ petition has been identified for inclusion in the cause-list under the heading "For referral the Special Mediation Drive-Mediation 'For the Nation' List".

Prima facie, this Court is of the view that the matter can be settled through mediation.

The Standard Operating Procedure permits the willing parties to appear online. It has been further mentioned that mediation can be completed in offline mode (physical mode), online mode or in hybrid mode.

Accordingly, the first date of mediation is fixed on 19.09.2025.

This order be brought to the notice of the Registrar (Judicial) for necessary compliance.

Accordingly, the parties to appear before the High Court Mediation Centre on 19.09.2025 and once the mediation is completed, the matter be listed along with the report of the learned Mediator on a date to be fixed by the Registry.
