GAUHATI HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON BHAIJAN MORANG V/S THE STATE OF ASSAM AND ANR

GUWAHATI, India, May 1 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on March 31:

Heard Mr. A. Lal, learned counsel for the appellant. Also heard Mr. R.R. Kaushik, learned Addl. P.P., Assam appearing for the respondent No.1 and Ms. R.D. Mojumdar, learned counsel for the respondent No. 2.

In view of the order dated 31/03/2026 passed in I.A. (Crl.) 132/2026, we are of the view that the respondent No.2 and the appellant should appear before this Court on 21/04/2026, to answer questions with regard to the affidavit submitted by the respondent No.2 to this Court on 23/05/2025 and with regard to whether any child was born to the respondent No.2, as she was shown to be pregnant by the Doctor who examined her in 2017.

List the matter on 21.04.2026.
