GUWAHATI, India, Oct. 2 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on Sept. 1:
Mr. N.J. Khataniar, learned counsel for the petitioners in WP(C)/5621/2023, WP(C)/5612/2023, WP(C)/5623/2023, WP(C)/5630/2023, WP(C)/5639/2023 & WP(C)/5642/2023; Mr. L. Mohan, learned counsel for the petitioner in WP(C)/5650/2023; Ms. M. Bhattacharya, learned Senior Government Advocate, Assam; Mr. J.K. Goswami, learned Standing Counsel, Elementary Education Department; Mr. D. Upamanyu, learned Standing Counsel, Health & Family Welfare Department; Ms. P.R. Mahanta, learned Standing Counsel, Higher Education Department; Ms. M.D. Bora, learned Standing Counsel, Transport Department; Mr. P.J. Phukan, learned Standing Counsel, Gauhati University for the official respondents are present.
The learned counsel for the parties have submitted that another batch of writ petitions, W.P.[C] no. 2301/2024 and others, involving similar issues, are also pending. As the issues involved in this batch of writ petitions are similar with them, this batch of writ petitions may be listed along with the other batch of writ petitions, W.P.[C] no. 2301/2024 and others.
It is submitted by the learned counsel for the official respondents that a consolidated affidavit has already been filed in the other batch of writ petitions and the said affidavit might also suffice for this batch of writ petitions.
Be that as it may.
List this batch of writ petitions along with the writ petition, W.P.[C] no. 2301/2024 and others on 16.09.2025.
Interim order, wherever passed, shall continue till the next date of listing.
