The Ministry of Defence has been awarded the Rajbhasha Kirti Award for the year 2025-26 by the Department of Official Language , Ministry of Home Affairs , Government of India for its outstanding implementation in the field of Official Language Hindi . The Ministry of Defence has secured the first position in the category of Ministries / Departments with more than 300 personnel .
This prestigious award was presented during the Hindi Diwas celebrations and the 6th All India Official Language Conference held at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai on the occasion of Hindi Diwas on September 14 , 2026. Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah presented the honour to Shri Manish Tripathi , Additional Secretary , Ministry of Defence .
This award recognizes the excellent use of the official language Hindi in the Ministry of Defence , its effective implementation and continued commitment to Hindi , and its continuous efforts to promote greater and quality use of Hindi in government work .
Around 7,000 Hindi volunteers from across the country , including officials from various ministries and departments of the Central Government , public sector undertakings , banks and Town Official Language Implementation Committees ( Narakas ) , are participating in this two -day conference organized by the Department of Official Language , Ministry of Home Affairs . Many dignitaries including Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis , Deputy Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Sunetra Ajitdada Pawar were present at the event .
