India, Oct. 29 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

The Ministry of Defence is running Swachhata Special Campaign 5.0 from 2 October to 31 October 2025. The objective of this campaign is to promote disposal of e-waste and unusable items , reuse of space and cleanliness in various buildings and premises of the Ministry.

Under this campaign, the disposal of unusable items and e-waste kept in the Ministry premises was done in two phases. In the first phase, a total revenue of Rs.3,50,460 ( including taxes) was received in the auction process on 26 September 2025. Thereafter , the second phase was held on 3 October 2025 in which the auction generated revenue of Rs.3,85,000 ( including taxes). Thus, a total revenue of Rs.7,35,460 ( including taxes) was received in both the phases.

During this campaign, approximately 5,600 square feet of space was cleared by disposing of unused items stored in the Ministry's M- 5 South Block , Sena Bhawan, and Kashmiri House. Additionally , Room M- 5 in M- 5 South Block was renovated , creating approximately 400 square feet of additional space for office use and storage.

The campaign promoted cleanliness , orderliness, and better space utilization in offices and premises. Continued cleaning activities at M- 5 South Block , Sena Bhawan, and Kashmiri House significantly improved the office environment.

The Joint Secretary (Architecture) and his team , along with the officers and employees of the Central Public Works Department, made commendable contributions to the successful conduct of this campaign. At the beginning of the program, Additional Secretary Mrs. Deepti Mohil Chawla administered the cleanliness pledge to all the officers and employees present and honored the sanitation workers.
