India, Dec. 14 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

The Central Institute of Classical Languages (CICT) stall, part of Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0, has emerged as an important hub for understanding Tamil language, literature, and culture. The stall aims to present the Tamil classical language in a simple, accessible, and multilingual format through the "Tamil Karkalam" (Learn Tamil) initiative.

CICT has translated Tamil classical texts into Hindi and made all the books available at the stall. Books in Hindi, Tamil, English, and Thai, among other languages, have also been displayed, so that delegates from Kashi and Tamil Nadu can easily understand Tamil literature.

The stall features the Thirukkural text, believed to be approximately 300 years old and a priceless treasure of Tamil literature. Divided into three parts, the first presents religion, the second presents economics, and the third presents the philosophy of love. Just as economics is important in Hindi, the Thirukkural is the moral and philosophical foundation of Tamil society.

Following the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, with the aim of further strengthening cultural unity, CICT has also published a special inter-cultural book titled "Kashi as etched on the Tamil Indian Book", which highlights the historical and emotional connection between Kashi and Tamil culture.

Interactive learning sessions are also being held at the stall, where teachers teach simple grammar, Tamil dictionary, dialogue practice, and Tamil alphabet writing through five key books. The use of charts and visual aids makes learning more intuitive for children and novice learners.

Additionally, Tamil is being taught through online classes under the PM e-Vidya initiative. The stall also features the first Tamil grammar book, Tolkappiyam, Sangam literature, post-Sangam literature, art literature (in 18 volumes), and numerous books related to Tamil research.

The stall is being managed under the guidance of CICT Director Dr. R. Chandrasekhar and Registrar Dr. R. Bhuvaneswari. The stall team includes Dr. Devi, Dr. Karthik, and Dr. Pierswamy.

This initiative of CICT is proving to be a strong step towards learning, understanding the Tamil language and connecting with the diverse cultural heritage of India.

Sazia, a local resident of Varanasi, who was learning Tamil at the stall, shared her experience, saying that CICT's initiative is extremely useful and inspiring. "I used to think that learning Tamil would be difficult, but here, through 'Tamil Karkalam,' it's taught in a very simple and interesting way. With Hindi translated books, charts, and dialogue practice, understanding the language has become easier," she said.

Sajia said the interactive classes and guidance from teachers are giving her confidence in learning Tamil letters, words, and general conversation. She also explained that platforms like this provide a great opportunity for local youth to learn new languages and understand other cultures.

He appreciated CICT and Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 and said that such efforts truly embody the spirit of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" and connect the youth with knowledge and culture.
