India, Aug. 5 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

The Government approved the Centrally Sponsored Project for Computerisation of functional Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) on 29.06.2022 with the objective of bringing all functional PACS on a common ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)-based National Software and strengthening their operational efficiency, transparency and service delivery. The Project, initially approved for 63,000 PACS, has subsequently been expanded to 79,630 PACS with a revised total financial outlay of Rs.2,925.39 crore. Karnataka has total 5,894 sanctioned PACS, covered under this project. In last 3 years (2023-24 to 2025-26), Central assistance provided to Karnataka state has been 27.58 Crore.

The Central Schemes of the Ministry under which Karnataka's cooperative institutions have received assistance during the last three years are as under: -

In Karnataka, PACS, Ekamba (Bidar District) has been selected as the pilot PACS under the programme. The project was sanctioned by Bidar District Central Cooperative Bank(BDCCB) with financial assistance of Rs.150.15 lakh for the following components:

Under the project, refinance assistance of Rs.112.57 lakh has been released to the Karnataka State Cooperative Bank Ltd. to date. The project is also eligible for 3% interest subvention under AIF and Rs.25.00 lakh subsidy under AMI, of which Rs.12.50 lakh has already been released as advance subsidy.

(2) Assistance under the Cooperative Development Fund (CDF) - CDF - Scheme of Financial Assistance for Training of Cooperative Banks Personnel (SOFTCOB): Under the SOFTCOB component, NABARD provides grant assistance to three Cooperative Training Institutes (CTIs) in Karnataka viz., National Institute of Rural Banking (NIRB), Agriculture Co-operative Staff Training Institute (ACSTI) , and Sahakara Rural Development Academy (SAHARDA) for capacity building of officials, staff, and Board members of cooperative institutions. The assistance includes reimbursement of training expenses as well as infrastructure support such as audio systems, interactive panels, podiums, photocopiers, air conditioners, laptops, and other training related equipment. During FY 2025-26, an amount of Rs.244.19 lakh was reimbursed by NABARD Regional Officer to the three CTIs for conducting 112 training programmes.
