India, July 31 -- The Government of India issued the following news release:

The Ministry of Culture, through Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF), Kolkata-an autonomous organization-provides financial assistance for the development of public libraries across the country under its approved Matching and Non-matching Schemes. These schemes aim to support various initiatives such as enrichment of library resources, procurement of furniture, construction of library buildings, establishment of children's and knowledge corner, creation of facilities for Divyangjan readers, and modernization of library services through the provision of computers, printers, and related infrastructure. The implementation of these schemes is carried out in active coordination with the respective State / UT Library Authorities.

Quantum of released financial assistance depends on number of eligible applications received from the respective State/UT Library Authority with their recommendation.

Details of proposals received and sanctioned during the year 2014-15 to 2024-25 under various schemes of RRRLF are provided at Annexure-I.
