Detailed information about the achievements , research activities and academic progress of the institute was shared in the press conference organized on the occasion of the 64th Convocation at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR - IARI) , Pusa , New Delhi .

Dr. CH Srinivas Rao, Director, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) informed that Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be the Chief Guest at the Convocation Ceremony to be held on 13 February 2026 at Bharat Ratna C. Subrahmanyam Auditorium, National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC) of ICAR in New Delhi.

A total of 470 students will be awarded degrees on this occasion . These include 180 Ph.D. students ( 70 women and 110 men) and 290 M.Sc./M.Tech. students ( 126 women and 164 men).

Director Dr. C.H. Srinivasa Rao stated that over 12,000 students from the institute are currently contributing to the agricultural sector in India and abroad. Strengthening the research environment, students are being encouraged to select research topics that help farmers increase production and productivity amid the challenges of climate change. He noted that approximately 70 percent of the country's agricultural scientists come from ICAR institutions, and ICAR holds a leading position in the field of agricultural higher education.

Dean Dr. Anupama Singh stated that the institute provides practical training in addition to academics, so that students are equipped with knowledge and skills upon completing their courses. A dedicated placement cell is actively working at the institute, and a startup culture is also being promoted. As a result, a large number of students are finding placements in various government institutions.

It should be noted that ICAR - IARI is a 121 -year-old leading agricultural research institute whose educational programs began in 1923. Currently, 3,374 students are studying at IARI (Deemed University). ICAR has 113 institutes operating across the country. IARI also has institutes in Jharkhand and Assam, which are promoting agricultural education in the eastern and northeastern states. He said that the institute operates nine regional centers. IARI has been awarded A+ grade status and provides guidance to the country's agricultural institutes with its excellent performance.
