Abstract: The present invention relates to a zone-based railway platform safety monitoring system (100) comprising a laser sensor (101), an LDR sensor (102), an ESP8266 NodeMCU (103), and a locally hosted webserver (104). The laser sensor (101) and LDR sensor (102) monitor designated platform zones including yellow-line and dead-end areas. Infrared sensors detect train arrival and departure and provide corresponding train-state inputs to the NodeMCU (103). A change in light condition persisting beyond a predetermined hold time is determined as a breach risk. Upon breach confirmation, the NodeMCU (103) activates audible and visual alerts and updates the webserver (104) with zone status. A grace period is applied during train movement, and a cooldown period is applied following train passage or breach clearance. The webserver (104) provides live sensor status, timing information, recent events and manual train-state controls.
