MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511018859 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology Deemed To-Be University; and Shobhit University, Gangoh on March 03, 2025, for Writing Tool Nib Protection Device.

Abstract: A writing tool nib protection device, comprising an elongated frame 1 possessing a first position attached with a conical spring 2 to be accommodated on nib portion of a writing tool and a second portion attached with a C-shaped expandable motorized clamp 3 to be positioned in contact with top portion of the tool, a microphone 4 positioned on the frame 1 for receiving user’s input, a drawer arrangement 5 integrated in the clamp 3 to extend the clamp 3 for securely gripping the tool, an imaging unit 6 mounted on the frame 1 for detecting exact location from where the tool is held by the user along with detecting length, two electromagnets configured with the spring 2 for lifting the tool to prevent any damage to the nib, a speaker 7 mounted on the frame 1 for notifying the user to maintain optimum angle of the tool.
