MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511016378 A) filed by Sanskriti University on February 25, 2025, for Wooden Log Cutting Assistive Device.

Inventors include Dr. Jai Prakash Gupta; and Dr. Alok Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A wooden log cutting assistive device, comprising a cuboidal body 101 developed to installed directly over the housing of a cutting blade, an artificial intelligence- based imaging unit 103 to detect the dimensions of the cutting blade, a telescopically operated rod 104 allowing it to be precisely positioned in parallel orientation with the cutting blade, a weight sensor that detects the weight of the wooden log placed over the rod 104, a pair of electromagnetic springs 105 for enabling precise control over the rod 104's movement, a pair of robotic grippers 106 to tighten their hold for ensuring the log remains firmly in place and a piezoelectric transducer to harness electrical energy from the mechanical vibrations generated during the cutting process.
