MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099485 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on August 18, 2026, for Wireless Microscale Implantable Physiological Monitoring System.
Inventors include Dr. Deepak Nathiya; Dr. Hemant Bareth; Dr. Sandli Jain; and Dr. Bhumi Chaturvedi.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for implantable wireless physiological monitoring. The system comprises a set of microscale implantable sensor nodes (102), includes integrated circuitry (102a), physiological sensing element (102b), a piezoelectric transducer (102c) and a biocompatible encapsulation layer (102d). The system further comprises an external ultrasonic transceiver (104) configured to transmit ultrasonic waves (104a) to power the plurality of sensor nodes (102) and to receive modulated backscattered ultrasonic signals (104b) therefrom. Moreover, the system comprises a data processing unit (106) operatively coupled to the external ultrasonic transceiver (104) and configured to extract physiological data from the received backscattered ultrasonic signals (104a). Then the plurality of sensor nodes works without internal batteries and communicate by ultrasonic backscatter modulation.
