MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611059426 A) filed by Gla University, Mathura on May 10, 2026, for Wireless Inertial Measurement Unit (imu) Based Gesture Pen System.

Inventors include Mona Kumari; Ajitesh Kumar; Mradul Mani Mishra; and Yash.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT WIRELESS INERTIAL MEASUREMENT UNIT (IMU) BASED GESTURE PEN SYSTEM The present invention relates to a wireless gesture pen system (100) for digital reproduction of handwriting or drawing on a user-selected physical surface (130). The system (100) comprises a gesture pen assembly (105) having an inertial measurement module (110), an embedded control module (115), and a wireless communication module (120), and a mobile computing device (160) having a mobile application module (170). The inertial measurement module (110) generates acceleration and angular velocity data corresponding to movement of the gesture pen assembly (105). The embedded control module (115) acquires and processes the data through drift reduction, denoising, gravity compensation, estimation, and stroke-state determination to generate writing-related coordinate information. The mobile application module (170) applies calibration based on reference gestures and renders digital strokes in real time or near-real time on a virtual canvas.
