Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for wireless power transfer to an implantable medical device. The system comprises an external power transmitter (102) includes a transmitting coil (102a), a resonant drive circuit (102b), and a first microprocessor control unit (102c). The system further comprises an implantable power receiver (104) includes a receiving coil (104a), a rectification circuit (104b), an adaptive power management circuit (104c), and a second microprocessor control unit (104d). Moreover, a bidirectional telemetry module (106) configured to enable communication between the external power transmitter (102) and the implantable power receiver (104). Then the first microprocessor (102c) and second microprocessor (104d) control units are configured to dynamically optimize power transfer efficiency and maintain predefined safety parameters (108).
