Abstract: Provided are a wireless communication method, a terminal device and a network device. The method comprises: a terminal device determining whether to send a first request, wherein the first request is used for requesting that a network device sends a system information block SIB1, and the first request is associated with first information, which is used for one or more of the following: determining a transmission mode of the SIB1; determining a transmission resource for transmitting the first request; and determining sequence information of the first request. Compared with periodically transmitted SIBs1 in conventional solutions, the terminal device can determine whether to trigger the transmission of SIBs1 by means of sending a first request, so as to facilitate a reduction in the number of SIBs1 that are not effectively utilized, thereby improving the utilization rate of transmission resources.
