The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.

Abstract: A modified orthodontic hand instrument integrating a wire cincher and wire tuCker into a single double-ended instrument is proposed to simplify archwire management procedures during fixed orthodontic treatment. Conventional orthodontic practice requires separate instruments for cinching distal ends of archwires and for tucking or seating wire ends, leading to repeated instrument exchange, increased chairside time, operator fatigue, and reduced clinical efficiency. Existing wire cinchers are primarily designed to bend or cinch distal wire ends, whereas separate wire tuckers are required for intraoral adaptation and seating of archwires in bracket slots or molar tubes. The proposed invention combines both functions into a single autoclavable stainless-steel hand instrument. One working end consists of a precision wire cincher tip capable of safely bending and cinching distal orthodontic archwire ends intraorally, while the opposite working end incorporates a smooth wire tucker tip designed for seating, adapting, and tucking orthodontic wires without damaging soft tissues or appliance components. The novelty of the invention resides in the integration of a wire cincher and wire tucker within a single ergonomically balanced orthodontic instrument, allowing efficient wire manipulation without repeated instrument changes. The product patent may encompass the structural configuration of the dual working ends, the angulation and curvature of the tips, ergonomic grip design, and the specific clinical orientation enabling simultaneous cinching and tucking procedures in confined intraoral environments.
