The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: A wildlife proximity alert system (100) for reducing wildlife-vehicle collision risk along a roadway may include a vehicle registration unit (104) to register a vehicle entering a monitored roadway segment at an entry point (102) and associate the vehicle with a communication endpoint (114), a vehicle tracking unit (106) to obtain movement information associated with registered vehicle, and a wildlife monitoring unit (108) comprising one or more wildlife detection units (108A) to detect presence of an animal within a monitoring zone. A processing unit (110) operatively coupled to foregoing units may process wildlife detection information to determine a location associated with detected animal (206), correlate determined location with movement information of registered vehicle to identify vehicles having a predicted likelihood of encountering the animal and generate a wildlife proximity event. An alert transmission unit (112) may selectively transmit a wildlife proximity alert to communication endpoints (114) associated with identified vehicles.
