MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641083610 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on July 07, 2026, for Wideband Microstrip Antenna Device For Upper C-Band Operation And Method Thereof.
Inventors include Manas Rahul Jatkar; Praveen Kumar; and Goutham Simha G D.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a wideband microstrip antenna device (100) for upper C-Band operation and method (200). The device (100) includes a radiating conductive patch (104), a feed structure (106) and a ground structure (108). The radiating conductive patch (104) is disposed on a first surface of a dielectric substrate (102). The feed structure (106) is coupled to the radiating conductive patch (104) and configured to excite the radiating conductive patch (104). ground structure (108) disposed on a second surface of the dielectric substrate (102) opposite the first surface. The radiating conductive patch (104) includes a plurality of slot features arranged in a substantially symmetrical configuration to modify a surface current distribution of the radiating conductive patch (104). The ground structure (108) includes a modified ground plane configured to cooperate with the radiating conductive patch (104) to provide broadband impedance characteristics over a predetermined operating frequency range.
