MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641065845 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on May 25, 2026, for Wideband Flexible Antenna Device For Sub-7 Ghz Wireless Applications And Method Thereof.
Inventors include Shreyas Arya Jaiswal; Praveen Kumar; and Goutham Simha G D.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a wideband flexible antenna device (100) for sub-7 GHz wireless applications and method (200). The device (100) includes a flexible dielectric substrate (102), a radiating structure (104), and a ground structure (108). The flexible dielectric substrate (102) is formed of Melinex material. The radiating structure (104) includes a modified monopole geometry configured to generate a plurality of resonant modes within a sub-7 GHz frequency range. The ground structure (106) includes a partial ground plane and at least one defected ground region (108). Interaction between the radiating structure (104) and the ground structure (106) produces impedance matching and wideband radiation characteristics. The antenna device (100) operates over a continuous frequency band extending from about 3.13 GHz to about 7.3 GHz without requiring an external matching circuit.
