The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a compact wideband coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) microstrip patch antenna for sub-6 GHz wireless communication applications. The antenna comprises a 1×2 linear array of square microstrip patch elements fabricated on a single-layer FR-4 substrate having a dielectric constant of approximately 4.6 and a thickness of about 1.6 mm. A CPW feeding network with impedance-matching transformers excites the radiating elements to provide efficient power transfer and wideband performance. The antenna incorporates four conductive vertical bars of varying widths and a parasitic decoupling structure disposed between adjacent radiating elements to enhance bandwidth and reduce mutual coupling. The antenna operates over a frequency range of approximately 2.4 GHz to 4.5 GHz, providing a bandwidth of about 2.1 GHz, a fractional bandwidth of approximately 60%, gain greater than 3 dBi, and port isolation exceeding 20 dB, making it suitable for 5G, S-band, and C-band communication systems.
