Abstract: Abstract: The present invention discovers the correlation between surface roughness and the efficiency of the photocatalyst. TiO2 nanostructures were prepared with different roots and modified with ion irradiation and chemical treatment. Those surface-modified nanostructures, with varying surface roughness, exhibit a higher hydrophilicity transition, thereby enabling superior solar-driven photocatalytic degradation of the cationic Methylene Blue (MB) dye.
