Abstract: ABSTRACT WEB-BASED DECISION-SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR THREE-TIER SPARE PARTS INVENTORY OPTIMIZATION A computer-implemented web- based decision-support system (100) and method for determining optimal spare parts inventory levels in asset-intensive industries through a three-tier mathematical framework. The system (100) receives twelve parametric inputs through a parametric input module (110) and computes three progressive inventory levels via a three- tier computation engine (120): Essential Stock for All (ESA), Sustainable Minimum Stock (SMS), and Economic Maximum Stock (EMS). A novel piecewise interchangeability function applies square root, cube root, or fourth root transformations depending on fleet size to model inventory pooling efficiency. The framework embeds circularity principles by distinguishing refurbishable hard spare parts from consumable soft spare parts. A stocking plan recommendation engine (130) determines appropriate levels based on supply source and equipment type. A traditional stock comparative analysis module (160) enables comparison across eight engineering parameters. A report generation module (150) exports nine-worksheet Excel reports. Industrial validation demonstrated combined savings of approximately USD 90,000. [
