MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641114592 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology Formerly Known As Srm University on September 24, 2026, for Wearable Sensor-Based System For Knee Range-Of-Motion Monitoring And Voice-Guided Rehabilitation.
Inventors include M Anbu Priya; and S Pavithra.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a wearable sensor-based knee rehabilitation system (100) for monitoring knee movement and providing real-time rehabilitation guidance. The system (100) comprises a wearable support assembly (102), a knee movement sensing arrangement (104), and a processing/control unit (106) configured to process sensor data and determine knee range of motion through a range-of-motion determination module (108). An exercise evaluation module (110) evaluates the determined range of motion relative to predefined exercise criteria, while a repetition counting module (112) detects completed exercise repetitions. A voice guidance module (114) generates movement-responsive instructions output through an audio output device (116). A wireless communication module (118) transmits rehabilitation information to an external monitoring device (120), while a memory/storage unit (122) stores rehabilitation data. A power supply (124) powers the system (100) for clinical and home-based rehabilitation. Figure 1 will be the reference.
