Upon detecting (250) an emergency via a manual trigger, sensor anomaly, or tamper event, the method (200) includes generating (260) an encrypted distress packet protected by a secure element. The method (200) further includes transmitting (270) the packet through cellular communication, with satellite fallback when cellular service is unavailable, while simultaneously broadcasting (280) the packet over BLE or UWB to support a local mesh network.
