Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: WEARABLE LUMBAR SAFETY BELT WITH REAL-TIME SPINAL LOAD INDEX PREDICTION The present invention relates to a wearable lumbar safety belt comprising a wearable lumbar belt (1) carrying an upper-back inertial measurement unit (2), a middle-back inertial measurement unit (3) and a lower-back inertial measurement unit (4). A controller unit (5) receives movement information from the inertial measurement units together with signals from a muscle activity sensor (6) and a stretch sensing unit (7). The controller unit (5) combines the received information to determine a real-time Spinal Load Index and classifies the detected lumbar loading into predetermined risk levels. A feedback unit (8) provides vibration, audio and visual indications corresponding to the classified loading condition. A display unit (9) presents the calculated index and risk level to the user. A rechargeable power supply (10) supplies electrical energy to the wearable monitoring arrangement for continuous operation during physical activities. Figure – 1
