MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621063561 A) filed by Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed To Be University College Of Engineering, Pune on May 20, 2026, for Wearable Gesture-Controlled Input System And Method For Gesture-Based Control Of An Electronic Device.

Inventors include Devarshi Bohra; Dr. Manisha Kasar; and Dr. Priyanka Paygude.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT WEARABLE GESTURE-CONTROLLED INPUT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GESTURE-BASED CONTROL OF AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE A wearable gesture-controlled input system (100) and a method (200) for gesture-based control of an electronic device are disclosed. The system (100) comprises a finger-mountable housing (102) including a first embedded controller (104) configured to generate human interface device cursor-control outputs through a joystick input module (106) and one or more tactile input buttons (108). A second embedded controller (118) operatively associated with an inertial measurement unit (120) captures motion data corresponding to user gestures. A machine-learning inference engine (122) classifies the motion data into predefined gesture labels, and a communication interface (124) transmits the gesture labels to a host computing device. The method (200) comprises capturing (202), pre-processing (204), classifying (206), transmitting (208), detecting (210), retrieving (212), executing (214), and simultaneously generating (216) cursor-control outputs using independently operating embedded controllers. FIG. 1 will be the reference figure.
