Abstract: Provided is an electronic device. The electronic device comprises: a display, a sensor, a memory for storing one or more computer programs, and a processor communicatively connected to the display, the sensor, and the memory. The computer programs include computer-executable instructions. The instructions, when executed individually or collectively by the one or more processors, may cause the electronic device to: acquire information related to a field of view of a user via the sensor; acquire a two-dimensional image; identify a first portion, to be applied as a background image to a three-dimensional virtual space, of the two-dimensional image; identify a second portion, corresponding to an object of interest, of the two-dimensional image; generate an extended image corresponding to the first portion of the two-dimensional image; apply a first depth to the extended image; generate a three- dimensional virtual image by applying a second depth to the second portion of the two-dimensional image; and display a portion of the three-dimensional virtual image on the basis of the information related to the field of view of the user.
