MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641081263 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on July 01, 2026, for Wearable Device For Physiological Recovery-Based Exercise Monitoring.

Inventors include Gugapriya G; T S Nidish; and Harshvardhan R.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a wearable device (100). The wearable device (100) may include a sensor assembly (102) to detect motion data corresponding to execution of an exercise set by a user and heart rate data of the user, an alerting module (104) to provide an output, and a controller (202) operatively coupled to the sensor assembly (102) and the alerting module (104). The controller (202) may receive the motion data and the heart rate data, determine completion of the exercise set based on the motion data, determine a peak heart rate value corresponding to the exercise set based on the heart rate data, determine a recovery threshold based on the peak heart rate value, compare the heart rate data with the recovery threshold during a rest phase, and transmit a control signal to the alerting module (104) when the heart rate data satisfies the recovery threshold.
