MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641119600 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on October 06, 2026, for Wearable Device For Monitoring Hand Motion.
Inventors include Trilok Nath Pandey; Saurav Gupta; Harsh Yadav; Avishkar Jaiswal; Samriddhi Ganguly; Shruti Sameeksha Pradhan; and Aarya Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a wearable device (100) for monitoring hand motion. The wearable device (100) includes a motion sensor unit (104), a flex sensor unit (106), a feedback unit (208), and a control unit (202) coupled to the motion sensor unit (104), the flex sensor unit (106), and the feedback unit (208). The control unit (202) receives wrist motion data from the motion sensor unit (104) and finger bending data from the flex sensor unit (106), generates a hand motion profile through a processing unit (308), and detects a deviation by comparing the hand motion profile against a reference motion pattern stored in a memory (304). The control unit (202) activates the feedback unit (208) to produce a haptic output based on the detected deviation, deactivates the feedback unit (208) upon correction of the deviation, and transmits session records to an external device via a communication unit (204).
