Abstract: The present disclosure provides a wearable device (100) for fall prediction, including a dual-axis calibrator unit (108) worn around the neck of a user, comprising motor actuators and an inertial measurement unit that monitors body orientation and performs motorised recalibration to compensate for pendant displacement. A LiDAR sensor unit (104) measures ground-surface proximity and detects surface-level changes. An IMU sensor (106) comprising an accelerometer and a gyroscope detects angular velocity and linear acceleration of the wearer. A control unit (102) coupled to the dual-axis calibrator unit (108), LiDAR sensor unit (104), and IMU sensor (106) includes a processor (302) and memory (304) configured to perform dual-axis orientation calibration, fuse calibrated motion data with LiDAR distance data to determine slope and ground-surface proximity, classify a fall risk level using a fall prediction engine (312), and trigger a predictive alert before an anticipated fall occurrence via an alert unit (110) and wireless communication interface (112).
