Abstract: ABSTRACT WEARABLE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REAL-TIME CORE TEMPERATURE ESTIMATION USING HEART RATE DATA The present invention relates to a wearable device for non-invasive and real-time estimation of human body core temperature using heart rate data. The device comprises a PPG heart rate sensor (1), a microcontroller (2) handling sensor data and computations through a novel algorithm/framework, a battery (3), and a display (4) to show real- time values. All electronics are mounted on a mounting board (5) inside a casing (6), secured to the user's wrist using a wrist belt (7). The device implements a linear or polynomial model for initial core temperature calibration and an improved extended Kalman filter based a plurality of instructions set with separate measurement models for exercise and recovery periods. The processed heart rate and core temperature are transmitted wirelessly to an external user interface for display, logging and export. (Figure 1)
