MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641069482 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on June 03, 2026, for Wearable Biomechanical Fatigue Sensing System.

Inventors include S. Pavithra; Hemila Saravanan; and Dhanya S.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: A wearable biomechanical fatigue sensing system (100) includes a wearable glove (102), one or more force-sensitive resistors (104) positioned on wearable glove (102) to generate grip-pressure indicative electrical signals, and one or more motion sensors (106) mounted on wearable glove (102) to generate motion-indicative electrical signals for thumb motion and wrist posture. A wireless microcontroller board (108), electrically coupled with force-sensitive resistors (104) and motion sensors (106) via an interconnect substrate (110), continuously acquires grip pressure, thumb motion, and wrist posture. Wireless microcontroller board (108) estimates a cumulative fatigue score by evaluating grip force level, thumb movement frequency, wrist stillness duration, and continuous usage time, compares the cumulative fatigue score with a pre-set risk threshold, classifies usage as normal or fatigue, and transmits a fatigue notification to a mobile device or phone (112)
