Abstract: Abstract 10 15 Recent advancements in computer vision and deep learning have enabled intelligent systems to interpret human facial cues for safety monitoring and affective computing. The widespread use of face masks has introduced significant challenges for facial emotion recognition, as critical facial regions such as the mouth and nose are partially occluded. Existing systems largely address either face mask detection or emotion recognition independently, limiting their applicability in real- world environments. This paper presents an Al-based real-time framework that integrates face mask and facial emotion recognition into a unified deep learning pipeline. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are employed for robust feature extraction and classification from live video streams. The system captures video input, detects facial regions, classifies mask presence, and predicts emotional states in real time. Experimental observations demonstrate reliable performance under masked and unmasked conditions with low latency.
