MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441091117 A) filed by Dr. L. Karpagavalli on January 22, 2025, for Wearable And Distributed System For Assisted Navigation, Safety Monitoring, And Escalated Response In Elderly Persons.

Inventor includes K Kavin.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: A wearable and distributed system for elderly safety monitoring comprises a wearable device with physiological sensors, motion sensors, and location tracking components. The system employs multi-factor analysis to detect potential distress conditions, wherein no single indicator is determinative. Severity of detected conditions is assessed using temporal, spatial, physiological, and behavioral factors. Caregiver notification and acknowledgment tracking enables tiered escalation including robotic assistance, human helper engagement, and public authority notification. Mobile robots and drones adapt their behavior based on the elderly person’s movement patterns. The system preserves privacy through on-device processing, encryption, and access control while maintaining reliability through network prioritization and offline operation capabilities. Applications include healthcare facilities, public spaces, smart cities, and home care environments FIG. 1
