MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531026121 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan Deemed To Be University on March 21, 2025, for Wax Cap Removing Assistive Device From Honeycombs.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A wax cap removing assistive device from honeycombs comprises of an elongated telescopic bar 101 with a handle 102 for positioning near the honeycomb, a U- shaped member 103 for securely gripping the handle 102, a microphone 104 for voice commands to remove wax caps, an imaging unit 105 to locate the honeycomb, a rectangular plate 106 attached to the bar 101 via a scotch yoke 107 for to-and-fro motion, pneumatic pins 108 on the plate 106 for wax cap removal, and a depth sensor to measure the distance between the bar 101 and the honeycomb surface, based on which the microcontroller directs the pins 108 to dislodge the wax cap, the device also includes an angle sensor to monitor angle of the bar 101 with the honeycomb, an infrared sensor for precise wax identification, and a pneumatic unit for extending and retracting the telescopic bar 101.
