Abstract: Abstract Water-Soluble Imidazo[1,2-a]Pyridine Derivatives for Drug-Resistant Fungal Infections The present invention relates to novel water-soluble imidazo[1,2- a]pyridine derivatives, pharmaceutical compositions comprising the derivatives, methods for their preparation, and their therapeutic use in treating fungal infections, particularly those caused by drug-resistant pathogenic fungi. The disclosed derivatives possess enhanced pharmaceutical compatibility suitable for incorporation into oral, topical, injectable, transdermal, and other therapeutic dosage forms. The pharmaceutical compositions comprise one or more disclosed derivatives together with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers and excipients for effective antifungal therapy. The derivatives exhibit inhibitory activity against clinically relevant fungal pathogens, including Candida species, while also demonstrating antimicrobial activity against selected bacterial pathogens. The invention further encompasses pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, hydrates, stereoisomers, polymorphs, prodrugs, and functional derivatives retaining antifungal activity. The disclosed compounds may be administered alone or in combination with existing antifungal agents to improve therapeutic efficacy, broaden antimicrobial coverage, and provide alternative treatment options for drug-resistant fungal infections.
