MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106748 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on September 04, 2026, for Water Quality Trend And Risk Scoring System.

Inventors include Navtej S. Nair; Daneshwaran M; Divyanshu Singh; Krishna Yadav; and P. Rukmani.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: A water quality trend and risk scoring system (100) includes a dissolved solids sensing assembly (102) generating sensor readings, and a microcontroller-based acquisition unit (104) coupled to the sensing assembly (102) to acquire, and time-stamp, the sensor readings. A processing unit (108) receives the time-stamped sensor readings, pre-processes the sensor readings by filtering and normalization, and extracts statistical features including mean, rate of change, and variance. The processing unit (108) performs trend analysis on historical readings to determine a water quality trajectory, and performs anomaly detection to detect abnormal deviations. A regression model generates a predicted water risk score indicative of water degradation risk. The processing unit (108) generates an explanation output indicating feature contributions, and computes a composite water risk score based on anomaly levels, prediction stability, and sensor consistency. A user interface (110) presents the insights and scores, wherein a power source (106) powers the acquisition unit (104).
