Abstract: The present invention provides a water heater (100) comprising a tank body (102) comprising an opening (103). The water heater (100) comprises an apparatus plate (104) to cover the opening (103). The apparatus plate (104) comprises a recessed lip (105) adapted to be positioned, such that the recessed lip (105) is within the tank body (102) and abuts the tank body (102). The water heater (100) comprises a locking strip (106) to securely engage the apparatus plate (104) with the tank body (102). The water heater (100) comprises a gasket (120) accommodated at the recessed lip (105) of the apparatus plate (104). Increased water pressure from within the tank body (102) pushes the apparatus plate (104) more tightly against the tank body (102), thereby increasing the seal between the apparatus plate (104) and the tank body (102), thus, further limiting leakage of water from within the tank body (102).
