Abstract: A water distribution network (100) may include a fluid conveyance network (102) can include conduits and distribution nodes to transport and distribute water. The network (100) further includes sensing units (104) to generate data representative of operating conditions and flow control elements (110) operatively associated with the fluid conveyance network (102) to influence water flow. A communication system (106) enables data exchange among the sensing units (104), flow control elements (110), and a control system (108). The control system (108) is implemented as a multi-level processing architecture including processing levels, wherein at least one level is used to perform real-time data processing, and at least one level is used to perform aggregated or system-level analysis. The control system (108) is to receive the data and autonomously regulate operation of the flow control elements (110) to enable self-regulating operation without continuous manual intervention.
